    For the flat roof areas, our AluGrid 100 system was used, whereas the Eco05 system and KalZip 510 standing seam clamps were the right solution for the dome roof. Fitting the solar plant to the elliptic shape of the dome roof was the biggest challenge to technicians and fitters.

    The 443 kW solar plant for our customer ECOsys – a division of Midware Data Systems – was completed in March 2015. The ABC mall is the second biggest shopping center in Beirut with retail stores, boutiques, cafés, fancy restaurants and a cinema. Achrafieh is a mainly Christian quarter in Beirut on the eastern Mediterranean coast of Lebanon. This residential and business quarter in the east of the city is located on a hill south of the harbour.

    As there are 3,021 sun hours on annual average, Lhasa is also called “city of sunshine” or “sun city”. These are the best conditions for the use of solar power.

    Our customer Beijing Corona has chosen our modular carport Park@Sol with a 1-row vehicle arrangement for this project. The solar plant will be put into operation in July 2014. Lhasa, north of the Himalaya, is the capital of the Autonomous Territory of Tibet in the People´s Republic of China. With 3,650 meters above sea level, Lhasa is the highest capital in the world. Thus, our technicians sometimes had respiratory problems. Nevertheless, we could complete the mounting operations for our customer BEIJING CORONA SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD as scheduled. The 103 kWp solar carport for the Tibet museum provides shelter from the weather for 54 vehicles.

    The Tibet Museum that was opened in autumn 1996 is one of the most interesting sights in Lhasa. Countless artefacts from the long history of Tibet, culture and Tibetan Buddhism can be viewed there. The power that is generated with the carport is used to support the power supply of the museum.

    Now, Lhasa does not only have the highest railroad and the highest brewery, but also the highest carport in the world. Schletter made this possible!

    Since August 2014, a 16.38 kWp solar carport with 7 parking spaces in Nanjing supplies electric vehicles by the manufacturer Tesla with clean solar energy.
    In the history of China, Nanjing has been the official capital of China several times. This also explains the name, because Nanjing means “southern capital”. We have manufactured the carport for our customer Hanenergy Solar. The Bejing-based Hanergy Holding was established in 1994. The car port was designed especially for the American manufacturer of electric cars Tesla Motors. In this case, our carport design B1 was used. This is a 1-row
    vehicle arrangement (max. depth 6.0 m) with pitched roof and cast-in-place concrete foundation.

    Schletter GmbH donates a mounting system for two solar generators and supports project partners in the dimensioning of the inclined fastening system that does not require any anchoring in the roof.

    The first grid-connected solar plant in Togo was put into operation on August 12, 2013. The inauguration ceremony with members of the government is planned for early 2014. This solar plant is supposed to convince the government of Togo of the benefits of solar power. It is made up of 30 amorphous modules with a total power of 3.2 kW and 18 polycrystalline modules with a total power of 4.1 kWp. These modules were fastened on the AluGrid fastening system by Schletter.

    “The yield of this solar plant in the first three months of operation exceeds our expectations. From August 12 to November 4, the 7.35 kW solar generator produced 2,810 kWh. Even though it is the rainy season in Togo right now, the yield is 14% higher than expected according to the average daily solar radiation of this maritime location, which is 4 kWh/m2! That´s very promising“, says Bärbel Epp, board member of the Urbis Foundation. Two donators of material and several project partners made the realization of the solar plant possible.

    The solar plant is placed on the roof of the building of the international parastatal power supplier Communauté Electrique du Benin (CEB) in Lome. "We hope that the good solar yield will make the political decision makers in Togo aware of the fact that they really should give solar power more priority in their sunny country” says Bärbel Epp. The Munich-based Urbis Foundation that has been funding solar projects and other projects in Ghana for 10 years often had to realize that the authorities did not let the operators of bigger solar plants feed their solar power into the grid. However, Togo has to deal with power shortages and largely depends on electricity imports from the neighbouring country Ghana. The government has not realized the potential of photovoltaics for the midday peak in the grid yet. The situation is very different in Ghana, where an invitation for tenders for the first 1 MWp plant has just been issued.

    The juwi group and the Schletter GmbH have joined forces and have set up a 10 MW solar power plant for the project developer BioTherm Energy (Johannesburg, South Africa).

    45,000 solar modules were fastened onto substructures made by Schletter. The solar power plant is located on a terrain with a size of 30 hectares 36 kilometers south-west of Kenhardt and is scheduled to go on stream in December 2013 in order to generate clean solar power.

    In Heddesheim the largest crystalline solar rooftop plant in Europe has been constructed in record time using the Schletter AluGrid100 flat roof system.

    In Heddesheim the largest crystalline solar rooftop plant in Europe has been constructed in record time using the Schletter AluGrid100 flat roof system. 33,096 modules with a total capacity of 8,108 kWp harvest the sun's energy for the logistics company Pfenning in Heddesheim in Baden-Württemberg. The plant is proving that, despite decreasing compensation for electricity fed into the grid, a stable return on investment can still be obtained through photovoltaics. Particularly energy-intensive companies can achieve substantial cost-savings and short amortization periods by producing their own solar energy.

    "It is generally ground mount plants that we build in this magnitude," explains Dennis Seiberth, WIRSOL - Managing Director for the area of large, international projects. "however, we set ourselves the ambitious challenge of constructing this plant in just four weeks" he continues. The solar power plant was active on the grid according to plan by the end of July.

     

    Thanks to the aerodynamic optimisation of the Schletter AluGrid100 Systems, only minimal ballast was required. Furthermore, the AluGrid100 is a cost-effective and easy to mount solution - modules are mounted to the substructure using screwless clamps (spring clamps). An East-West orientation was purposefully selected, thus avoiding the application of shading distances and allowing for optimal utilization of the hall roof area.

     

    The solar power station has a capacity to supply the needs of 1,846 families and is the largest self-consumption plant in Europe. Annual potential savings can be made of up to 5,171 tonnes CO2.  In 2012 the logistics center "multicube rhein-neckar" was awarded the preliminary gold DGNB certificate for design and energy efficiency from the Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (the German Sustainable Building Council).
